Jen Psaki, the former White House press secretary, has joined MSNBC, where she will appear on the network’s cable and online programs as well as host a new original show.
The program will premiere in the first quarter of 2023, according to the network. It will “bring together her unique perspective from behind the podium and her deep experience in the highest levels of government and presidential politics.”
Psaki will also appear on NBC and during MSNBC’s primetime special election programming throughout the midterms and 2024 presidential election.
In a tweet, Psaki wrote that she was thrilled to join the network this fall. “Breaking down the facts and getting to the bottom of what’s driving the issues that matter most to people in this country has never been more important,” she added.
Jen Psaki: Champion of the White House’s causes
For the first 16 months of the Biden administration, Jen Psaki was the White House spokesperson. She previously worked as the White House communications director and spokeswoman for the State Department under former President Barack Obama.
“Her extensive experience in government and on the campaign trail and perspective as a White House and Washington insider is the type of analysis that sets MSNBC apart,” MSNBC President Rashida Jones said in a statement. “She’s a familiar face and trusted authority to MSNBC viewers, and we look forward to her insight during this consequential election season.”
Symone Sanders, the former main spokeswoman for Vice President Kamala Harris, has also joined MSNBC. NBC News has been careful to distinguish its journalists from MSNBC, which has increased its opinion programs.
Karine Jean-Pierre has succeeded Jen Psaki as White House press secretary. As a result, she is the first Black LGBTQ person to hold the position.
