Taylor Swift creates history with "Tortured Poets album", all songs in the Billboard Hot 100

Taylor Swift doesn’t seem to slow down, and her fans are loving it. The pop superstar is gearing up to continue her Eras Tour, following the release of her newest album, “The Tortured Poets Department” (TTPD). This latest release is creating significant buzz, shattering records, and further cementing Taylor’s status as a mainstay in pop culture, album after album.

The Tortured Poets continues to set and knock down records, as Swift has now become the first artist to claim the top 14 songs on the Billboard Hot 100. Almost all songs featured in her new album have claimed top spots on the chart. This comes after her 2022 album Midnights did something similar.

“Fortnights” Leads as top track from The Tortured Poets Department

The standout track from TTPD, “Fortnight,” a collaboration with Post Malone, has climbed to Number 1. This song marks her 12th chart-topping single on the Billboard chart.

With this, Taylor Swift now has the sixth-most Number 1s and levels up from 49 to 59 career top 10s, which is the most among female artists.  Additionally, “Fortnight” has garnered 76.2 million streams, making it her ninth song to top the Streaming Songs chart, another record among female artists. Remarkably, all 31 songs from the album have charted on the Hot 100.

Taylor Swift’s latest hits from TTPD, including “Down Bad,” “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart,” “The Tortured Poets Department,” “So Long, London,” and “My Boy Only Breaks His Favorite Toys,” have all landed in the Top 10. Her song “Florida!!!,” featuring Florence + the Machine, and other singles like “Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me?” and “Guilty as Sin?” have also achieved top 10 status.

Taylor Swift’s record-breaking achievements with TTPD

With these latest achievements, Swift has surpassed legends like Whitney Houston, Janet Jackson, and Stevie Wonder in terms of number-one hits. She is now on par with the Supremes and Madonna and just behind icons such as Michael Jackson, Drake, Rihanna, Mariah Carey, and the Beatles, who hold the record with 20 Number 1s.

Taylor Swift recently expressed her gratitude for the overwhelming fan reception to her album, which was released in two parts, one as the initial set of songs and the other as an extended version of “The Tortured Poets Department.”

On Instagram, she shared her amazement, posting, “My mind is blown. I’m completely floored by the love you’ve shown this album. 2.6 million ARE YOU ACTUALLY SERIOUS?? Thank you for listening, streaming, and welcoming Tortured Poets into your life.”
