Do millennials think their company’s culture has been affected by the pandemic?
Despite only 54.5% of surveyed employees saying they have or would leave a job because of a company’s culture, a whopping 75% would research a company’s culture before applying for a role. 51.8% stated that company culture mattered more to them than salary. 84.5% stated company culture was important. Only 4.8% rated their company culture as excellent.
Paul Bauer, Cezanne HR’s Head of Content commented that: “It is clear from our research that positive company culture is a significant factor for staff retention rates and attracting new talent. That said, our survey highlighted that few of the surveyed employees believe that their company has an excellent culture.”

Employees want better health and mental wellness initiatives
Cezanne’s survey revealed that whilst overall employees felt being rewarded and recognition impacted company culture most, many felt that company culture would improve with better health and mental wellness initiatives. In fact, most millennials pegged it as the most important improvement companies could make.
Paul further said, “I think it’s understandable that employees place a high importance on health and mental wellness initiatives. The COVID pandemic highlighted the need for mental health initiatives and, of course, the importance of company culture.”
“The Great Resignation has meant that companies need to look inwardly and address their own company culture to remain attractive. What do your employees really want? What makes the company a place people want to work at? How does your company culture stack up against your competitors? Of course, each company has its own culture, but to attract new talent is it time for your company to make changes. “
