According to the researchers, these apocalyptic conditions in combination might be behind the extinction of dinosaurs on our planet. Hence, this was behind the death of a minimum of 75 percent of lifeforms on earth.

They added that while such an asteroid could impact Earth again, it is a part of a 250 million-year cycle. Hence, it is likely going to miss both our and our future generations’ lifetimes. So, when this asteroid does come again, humans will be technologically strong enough to deal with it.
