More than 2 million ticket requests to watch Cristiano Ronaldo take on Lionel Messi and PSG

Over two million people are said to have requested tickets to see Cristiano Ronaldo face Lionel Messi’s Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) in Saudi Arabia on January 19.

The united team of Al-Nassr and Al-Hilal will meet PSG in an exhibition match later this month at the King Fahd International Stadium in Riyadh. Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo might meet for the first time in more than two years at the 68,000-capacity stadium.

They last appeared on the pitch together in December 2020. On that occasion, Ronaldo’s brace helped Juventus defeat Messi’s Barcelona 3-0 in the UEFA Champions League.

Last month, the Portuguese legend agreed to terms with the Saudi Arabian club on a two-and-a-half-year contract. For the time being, friendly matches and the FIFA Club World Cup are the only ways for these two to compete at the club level.

Messi (35) and Ronaldo (37) are both nearing the end of their careers. Fans may know that they won’t have many opportunities to witness them play one another after this.

According to ESPN, nearly two million people were in line to buy tickets for the event when it went on sale earlier this month. It is yet to be determined if the two will compete.

Ronaldo’s debut for Al-Nassr has been postponed due to a two-game suspension for knocking a phone out of the palm of an Everton fan while at Manchester United. He will, however, be able to play by the time PSG arrives in Saudi Arabia.

Saudi businessman bids the most for a ‘Beyond Imagination’  ticket to see Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi

Mushref al-Ghamdi, a Saudi Arabian billionaire, is willing to pay at least £2.2 million to meet Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

The ‘Beyond Imagination’ ticket is up for grabs, and al-Ghamdi is now in the lead with the aforementioned offer. According to the Saudi government’s entertainment department on Twitter, this is the case.

The winner will be invited to the winner’s ceremony and will have the opportunity to meet the two superstars in the locker room following the game. This, together with the previously indicated fan interest in tickets, demonstrates the amount of excitement in the run-up to the match on January 19.

PSG manager Christophe Galtier, on the other hand, was not satisfied with the time of the friendly. It comes between the Parisians’ Ligue 1 match against Stade Rennais on January 15 and their French Cup round-of-32 match eight days later.
