The former captain of India, Virat Kohli, continued to dominate the 2022 T20 World Cup on Thursday by scoring one more 50-plus score in the ongoing competition against England in the second semifinal in Adelaide. He has now amassed 4,000 runs in T20I. Kohli is the first player in the briefest format of the game’s history to do so.

Kohli scored his 42nd run to achieve the 4000-run milestone

After England captain Jos Buttler asked India to bat, Kohli, scored his 42nd run to achieve the 4000-run milestone. To reach the milestone, Kohli blasted Liam Livingstone through the covers for a four.

Chris Jordan dismissed Kohli (50) shortly after he reached his half-century off 40 balls. Kohli attempted to slice a full yorker outside off-stump, but he smacked the ball straight to short third-man Adil Rashid.

Hardik Pandya’s explosive 63 from 33 balls, which included five sixes and four fours, helped India go on to reach 168/6. However, a great show from English openers Jos Buttler and Alex Hales helped England to win the game easily.

England will now face Pakistan in the World Cup finals on 13th November at MCG.
