Amazon to take team-wise approach

Amazon Chief Executive Officer Andy Jassy said in a message to staff that it will be taking a team-wise approach on remote work policy. Every individual team will be able to decide how many days a week corporate employees can work from home.

Previously, Amazon’s policy required employees to return to work for at least three days a week starting on January 3. But now Amazon will let the team decide by taking a team-wise approach on how to go further ahead with the work.

In a message posted on Amazon’s site, Jassy stated that Amazon’s corporate workers will be able to work totally remotely for up to four weeks each year. It can be from any location within their nation of employment.

Amazon is one of the country’s largest private employers. It would also need employees to be close enough to their teams. So that they will be able to attend meetings at a day’s notice.

The company began on-site vaccinations for frontline employees in the United States in March. It has chosen a flexible approach to reopening, similar to major rival Microsoft Corp (MSFT.O). The company said it will reopen offices in the United States on a site-by-site basis.
