Kansas City Chiefs' Rashee Rice suspect in alleged assault at nightclub amid ongoing legal troubles

Kansas City Chiefs player Rashee Rice is facing fresh legal trouble after being linked to an alleged assault incident at a Dallas nightclub. Reports emerged on May 7, 2024, suggesting that the NFL wide receiver is under investigation for his alleged involvement in the altercation.

According to WFAA, the incident occurred early Monday at the Lit Kitchen & Lounge, attached to Feu Nightclub, located at 609 N. Harwood Street in Dallas. Dallas police sources have initiated an investigation, interviewing witnesses to gather information about the reported assault.

The Dallas Morning News provided further details, confirming law enforcement’s response to a call reporting an assault at around 2:30 am Monday.

The alleged victim, a man, was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, including visible swelling on his face. While officials mentioned Rice as a suspect, they refrained from disclosing further details, stating that it’s not their practice to confirm a suspect’s identity during an ongoing investigation. As of Tuesday afternoon, no charges had been filed against Rice.

This latest incident adds to Rice’s ongoing legal challenges. Just a month prior, he faced eight charges related to a multi-vehicle crash in Dallas on March 30. Rice and SMU footballer Theodore ‘Teddy’ Knox were allegedly driving luxury sports cars involved in a speed-racing accident.

According to reports, Rice was driving at 119 mph before the collision occurred. After the crash, Rice and others reportedly fled the scene without helping the injured parties. Rice subsequently surrendered to authorities and posted bond after being charged with aggravated assault and other offenses related to the crash.
