Max Azzarello, the man who fatally set himself on fire outside Donald Trump’s trial in New York City on Friday, was an organ donor who saved two people’s lives, according to the NGO LiveOn NY.

Max Azzarello’s kidneys were still healthy despite his burns

The organ transplant group said that Max Azzarello’s kidneys were still healthy despite his burns and had already been transplanted to two Americans in need.

“Both of Mr. Azzarello’s kidneys were transplanted, and he was able to save two people’s lives on the national waitlist,” Leonard Achan, president of LiveOnNY, said in a statement.

No other information about the kidney recipients was revealed. It’s unknown whether Azzarello’s other organs will be included in future transplants.

Achan went on to say that his organization’s thoughts and prayers are with Azzarello’s loved ones following Friday’s event, in which Azzarello doused himself in accelerant before setting himself on fire in what he termed an “extreme act of protest.”

That protest was reportedly intended to draw attention to a dizzying manifesto he uploaded on Substack on Friday, in which he expressed his hatred for the Clinton family and described his belief in a variety of frightening and disproved conspiracy theories.
