Prince Philip, husband of Queen Elizabeth passed away on April 9, at the age of 99. The Prince and the Queen were married for almost seven decades. To safeguard the dignity of the monarch, the will is to be sealed. According to a London High Court judge, Prince Philip’s will is to be sealed. It will be kept secret for at least 90 years.
No copy of the will to be created for any purpose
The head of the Family Division of the court, Andrew McFarlane said it has been decided that Prince Philip’s will should be sealed. To keep up the traditions dating back to 1910, no copy of the ‘will’ will be created for any purpose. (Xanax)
“The degree of exposure that publication would be expected to draw would be quite wide. And entirely opposed to the goal of protecting the Sovereign’s dignity.” He said in a judgment issued on Thursday.
The judge is claimed to be a keeper of a safe. The safe contains the will of nearly 30 or more deceased royals. Prince Francis of Teck, George V’s youngest brother, and Queen Mary’s younger brother, were the first royal whose will was sealed. After the death of Queen Elizabeth’s mother, Queen and her sister are the newest addition in the list. The ‘wills’ of the Queen and her sister will also be sealed.
