Several people stabbed in Sydney church during live streaming, the second incident in 3 days

Sydney was rattled by another stabbing incident, this time in a church. Video footage captured the moment when a man approached the altar in the ‘Christ the Good Shepherd Church’ in Wakeley and then brutally stabbed a bishop and several worshippers.

The injured people suffered non-life threatening injuries and are being treated by paramedics, police officials were quoted by Reuters as saying.

The attack took place on Monday evening (Apr 15) while Bishop Mar Mari Emmanuel was addressing a congregation at the church. The incident was being live-streamed on the church’s YouTube page as the stabbing unfolded. The assault led to protests outside the church, with hundreds of people gathering to voice their outrage.

This incident comes within 48 hours of another horrifying stabbing incident that took place in the city’s Westfield Bondi Junction area

Bishop Emmanuel boasts a substantial social media following, with over 17,000 followers on Facebook. Additionally, the church’s YouTube channel has nearly 200,000 subscribers. This incident comes within 48 hours of another horrifying stabbing incident that took place in the city’s Westfield Bondi Junction area. Joel Cauchi, a 40-year-old assailant, fatally stabbed five women and a male security guard, also injuring several others, before being shot dead by a police officer.
