Since Daniel Craig revealed that he would leave the spy series following his film No Time to Die (2021), there has been much speculation about who would succeed him as James Bond.

British actor Aaron Taylor-Johnson has been formally offered the role of the new James Bond

According to a fresh story by The Sun, British actor Aaron Taylor-Johnson has been formally offered the role of the new James Bond, however, no casting announcements have been made.

According to reports, Aaron Taylor-Johnson is anticipated to take over as 007, succeeding Daniel Craig, who has played MI6’s most famous spy for 15 years. An insider informed the newspaper, “Bond is Aaron’s job, should he wish to accept it. The formal offer is on the table, and they are waiting to hear back.”

According to reports, the banner Eon Productions hopes to begin filming the 26th Bond film later this year, and 33-year-old Aaron Taylor-Johnson, whose credits include Kick-Ass, Tenet, and Bullet Train, is the top contender for the role. The source added,  “As far as Eon is concerned, Aaron is going to sign his contract in the coming days, and they can start preparing for the big announcement.”

Aaron competed for the role alongside Oscar-winning performers Cillian Murphy, Idris Elba, Henry Cavill, and James Norton. In 2022, it was revealed that Aaron had secretly for Bond film supremo Barbara Broccoli at Pinewood Studios.

Idris Elba has stated that he does not want the role publicly but appreciates the frequent fanfare. Another candidate for the new James Bond appeared to be Henry Cavill, well known for his roles as Geralt of Rivia in The Witcher and Superman in the DCEU.
