Black Panther 2: Letitia Wright promoting controversial anti-vaccine views

This month, Disney is launching a sticker system in which cast and staff done with vaccinations will wear a bracelet on set. A fresh revelation about performers voicing anti-vaccination ideas onset is out and Letitia Wright supports those beliefs on the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever set. Currently, the details about the second installment are under wraps. Following Chadwick Boseman’s death from colon cancer, co-writer/director Ryan Coogler has spent the previous year readjusting the story.

The Hollywood Reporter‘s report includes sources alleging that Wright continued to make her anti-vax stance known on the set of Marvel’s “Black Panther” sequel. THR reports: “Several performers, from Rob Schneider to Letitia Wright have shared anti-vaccine positions on social media. In Wright’s case, a set source says she has espoused similar views about the COVID-19 vaccines in the Atlanta production. The British actress quietly parted ways with her entire U.S. team of representatives in the wake of a backlash over posting a controversial anti-vaccine video in December.”

The film will see the returns of Black Panther stars Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Martin Freeman, to name a few. Wright is called anti-vax on social media after posting a 69-minute YouTube video she posted on Twitter in December. She initially responded to the backlash by posting: “If you don’t conform to popular opinions. If you ask questions and think for yourself….you will get cancel.”

Many Hollywood studios are in the midst of mandating COVID-19 vaccinations. They will keep a check to see updates on vaccination on set. Wright’s comments are not surprising to her followers after the sharing of the controversial anti-vax and transphobic ministry video. These eventually forced her to delete her social media account.

Boseman’s passing last year has attracted attention to Wright and her role as Shuri in Black Panther. Fans are in love with T’Challa‘s younger sister. They state their desire to see her take on the lead in the future. Unfortunately, her continuous anti-vaccination views are sure to disappoint many. The film will premiere on July 8, 2022.
