Things changed for a Welsh couple as they tied the knot in NYC’s Central Park. Avengers star Mark Ruffalo gatecrashed the nerdy wedding. The Hulk star was passing by as Klaire Hodgson and Lynz Tanner were about to tie the knot. The couple was setting up a video link for their family abroad to watch them get married when the actor “detoured over” to them. “I noticed he had a nice camera and I was thinking, ‘Oh, he must do photography.’ But I thought, ‘I can’t know this guy. I’m in New York. I don’t know anyone in New York,” recounted Hodgson.
The couple could not believe their luck as Ruffalo stopped by and seemed genuinely happy as he posed for pictures. “I was like, ‘no, that’s not going to be Mark Ruffalo. He’s not going to be walking through at the time of my wedding,'” stated Lynz. The couple is very “nerdy” with Hodgson sporting a Batman tattoo and the couple’s wedding suits featuring Star Trek badges.

The wedding was a spontaneous and quick wedding for the couple. Klaire was in New York for a conference when they decided to get married and Lynz joined her. “But he stopped to pose for pictures and to wish us well. Mark Ruffalo was very sweet. He had somewhere to go and people to see but he stopped and took a few photos,” stated Lynz. “He was absolutely lovely,” Hodgson said. “Later he shook my hand about three times and said, ‘Aw, I’m so happy for you.’ He was so super nice. He was just a regular guy,” added Hodgson. They wanted it to be low-key and chose not to go on a honeymoon. They spent some time before the wedding in New York.
