An upcoming film on the life and career of well-known American rapper and musician Snoop Dogg is being developed by Universal Pictures! As the first “definitive biopic of the hip-hop singer and pop cultural icon,” the movie is being hailed as a success. It’ll be an interesting first production for Dogg’s Death Row Pictures. The project will be directed by Allen Hughes (Broken City), and it will be produced by Dogg, Hughes, and Sara Ramaker.

Joe Robert Cole, who has written for American Crime Story and the Black Panther franchise in the past, will pen it (two episodes). The music division will be led by Mike Knobloch, head of music and publishing at NBC Universal.
