Quentin Tarantino’s final project, The Movie Critic, is no longer in production. As a result, Brad Pitt, who was always considered the best possibility to play Cliff Booth, will no longer be part of it. Filming was set to begin soon, but the long-awaited project has been called off, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Quentin Tarantino’s The Movie Critic was announced as his final film and would have been his tenth. The film was set in 1977 in California.
As to why he has scrapped the film, sources close to Tarantino say he aims to make something fresh, which will take some time. He no longer wants to rewrite or revive the film.
For his tenth film, Quentin Tarantino turned to a cynical film critic he admired as a teenager. Then he abandoned the idea and decided to develop a film about Brad’s stuntman character from Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. Brad Pitt had won an Academy Award for this work.
Tarantino remarked about the film at the Cannes Film Festival, “I can’t tell you guys [anything] until you see the movie. I’m tempted to do some of the character’s monologues right now, but I’m not going to. Maybe if there were less video cameras. You just have to wait and see.”
In addition to Pitt’s casting, the project had already received a $20 million tax break from the California state government. We are not sure what changed Quentin’s mind.
