Apple lines up to buy Machester United
Tech giant Apple is eyeing to buy Machester United in a $7.02 billion deal. Glazers have decided to put the football club up for sale after having it for 17 years. The Red Devils announced that Glazers were exploring “strategic alternatives” translating that they will be selling to the highest bidder. Additionally, as per the Daily Star, Apple executives expressed their interest in buying the club. Several Red Devils fans have been wanting Glazers to sell following struggles since Sir Alex Ferguson’s departure.
By far, Apple is the largest tech company with annual revenue of over $484 billion. The firm was first founded in 1976 as Apple Computer Company. Since then, the firm has evolved and grown with current evaluation at over $1 trillion. The tech firm has no experience in owning a football club the size of Manchester United. However, Tim Cook, the Apple CEO is keen on exploring the opportunities that owning the Red Devils will provide.

The Apple CEO is also planning to build a brand new stadium that is to be regarded as the best in the world. While some United fans may feel disregarded due to the history associated with Old Trafford, others are welcoming to the idea of transition. As per reports, the Glazers initially had an asking price of $10 billion however, they were told it is unrealistic. As of Forbes’ June 2022 report, Real Madrid is the most valued football club with Barcelona right behind it. While Manchester United is third on the list, their place may change.
