Who won the 2022 Qatar World Cup Golden Boot, Golden Ball, Golden Glove, and FIFA Young Player award

Argentina won the 2022 World Cup on penalties, defeating France 4-2 after a tense 3-3 stalemate in 120 minutes. After Kingsley Coman and Aurélien Tchouaméni both missed penalty kicks, Gonzalo Montiel scored the game-winning penalty.

After Ousmane Dembele brought down Angel Di Maria, Messi scored from 12 yards. In the 36th minute, Di Maria extended his country’s lead by converting Alexis MacAllister’s assist.

Kylian Mbappe then stole the show

Kylian Mbappe then stole the show, scoring two goals in two minutes to tie the game and force extra time. Messi reclaimed the attention with a 108th-minute goal, but the game was far from over when Mbappe converted a penalty with two minutes remaining.

In the subsequent shoot-out, Messi, Paulo Dybala, and Leandro Parades all scored from 12 yards before Montiel’s decisive penalty crowned new world champions. The Jules Rimet trophy was not the only honour up for grabs, with Argentina also taking home several of the tournament’s other prizes.

Enzo Fernandez won the FIFA Young Player of the Tournament

Enzo Fernandez won the FIFA Young Player of the Tournament title following multiple starring roles in Argentina’s midfield, including a fantastic performance in the final. The Benfica star made his debut against Poland in Argentina’s last group game.

Meanwhile, Emiliano Martinez won the Golden Glove trophy, given to the tournament’s finest goalkeeper, after Argentina won on penalties twice. In his country’s quarter-final win over the Netherlands, the Aston Villa goalkeeper saved two penalty kicks before denying Coman in the final.

Mbappe won Golden Boot and Messi won Golden Ball

The final two prizes, the Golden Boot for the tournament’s top scorer and the Golden Ball for the tournament’s finest player, appeared to be determined by Kylian Mbappe and Lionel Messi. Mbappe won the golden boot with eight goals after scoring a hat-trick in the final.

Leonel Messi on the other hand, will leave Qatar with two medals after earning the Golden Ball, which recognizes him as the most outstanding player at the 2022 World Cup.
