Djokovic has now level with Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal in the list of most singles Grand Slam titles in men’s history(20)

“Winning Wimbledon was always the biggest dream as a kid. I have to remember how special this is and not take it for granted and be aware this is a huge honour and privilege. From being a seven-year-old constructing a Wimbledon trophy out of raw materials to standing here with a sixth trophy. It’s incredible.”

Matteo Berrettini won the first set and looked in complete control. But Djokovic as always made a terrific comeback in the next sets. When you play against Novak you’ve to win two battles – Physical and psychological. He is mentally so strong that you’ve to be at your best always because there is a comeback always around the corner. A combination of forehand and powerful serves helps Djokovic beat Berrettini in the finals.

Djokovic has now won three Wimbledon titles in a row. He became the first male player since Federer to achieve the feat. He has won a record of twenty-one successive matches in the Grand Slam this year. Djokovic is also undefeated in 18 straight matches this season.

Djokovic has been phenomenal this year. He has won the Grand Slam title of the year having earlier won the Australian Open, French Open, and now Wimbledon. With Tokyo Olympics next month, he is a favorite to win Olympic singles gold and on the verge of becoming the first man ever to win a Golden Slam.

When asked about drawing level with Nadal and Federer, Novak Djokovic said:

“I have to pay great tribute to Rafa and Roger. They are legends of our sport and they are the two most important players that I ever faced in my career. They are the reason that I’m where I am today. They’ve helped me realize what I need to do in order to improve and get stronger mentally, physically, tactically.”

Congrats Novak on your 20th major. I'm proud to have the opportunity to play in a special era of tennis champions. Wonderful performance, well done!
