The long-rumored Apple AirTag is finally here. On Friday, April 23rd, Apple AirTags were available for pre-ordering. They officially launched on April 30th, 2021. When lost, you can place them in ‘lost mode’ and make sure others around it are alerted and track the general location of the AirTag.
How long do they last?
AirTag batteries last for a year. They use a replaceable CR2032 battery which is easy to find.
Are Android phones compatible with Apple AirTag?
No, their location-tracking features are only available on Apple iPhones with the U1 chip. All you need to do is make sure you update to iOS 14.5. It will let you track your items using the U1 chip on your iPhone 11 and iPhone 12. However, they are compatible with older iPhones via Bluetooth connectivity. The update allows for improved protection and precise tracking.
However, you can scan an AirTag with an Android phone that features NFC scanning to obtain the owner’s contact information.
