Right-wing commentator Laura Loomer sparked fresh controversy Monday with a series of social media posts claiming former President Joe Biden could “die in the next 2 months” following his announcement of an aggressive prostate cancer diagnosis.
Loomer, a prominent MAGA (Make America Great Again) influencer with close ties to President Donald Trump, took to the social platform X with statements that many political observers deemed callous and speculative regarding the 82-year-old former president’s health prognosis.
“I was right about the medical emergency…And I am going to be proven right when he dies too. Biden is terminally ill… A lot of people owe me an apology. I told you all Biden was terminally ill last July. Terminal is 6 months to a year… Won’t be long,” she wrote, launching a string of posts that rapidly drew criticism from across the political spectrum.
Claims of vindication
Loomer’s posts appeared designed to position herself as having insider knowledge about Biden’s health long before Sunday’s official announcement from the former president’s office. She resurfaced and retweeted her own post from July 2024, when Biden withdrew from the presidential race, in which she had claimed “Biden is dying.”
“Like I said in July, Biden is terminally ill. Don’t forget when I reported on how his brother Frank blurted out that his brother was terminally ill…Biden could very well die in the next 2 months,” Loomer wrote, though she provided no verifiable evidence for these assertions.
Medical experts contacted by this publication noted that while Biden’s diagnosis is indeed serious, making specific predictions about life expectancy is irresponsible without direct knowledge of his complete medical situation and treatment plan.
Allegations of medical cover-up
In her posts, Loomer went beyond commentary on Biden’s current condition to suggest a years-long conspiracy to conceal his health status.
“The White House physicians have long been suspected of fabricating his medical records,” she claimed without providing evidence. “As I reported last year, White House physicians had many late-night visits with Biden that went past midnight. Check the logs, you’ll see for yourself.”
Loomer further alleged that “Biden likely had cancer his entire presidency. They covered it up for 4 years,” characterizing the situation as “the biggest scandal to ever come out of the White House.”
She also recycled a 2022 incident in which then-President Biden made comments that briefly caused confusion about his medical history, sharing what she called a “video from 7/20/2022 of Biden admitting he has cancer.” The White House had clarified at the time that Biden was referring to previously treated skin cancers that had been removed before he took office.
Biden’s actual diagnosis
Sunday’s official announcement from Biden’s office confirmed that the former president has been diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer that has metastasized to his bones. According to the statement, Biden sought medical attention after experiencing urinary symptoms, leading to the discovery of a prostate nodule.
“While this represents a more aggressive form of the disease, the cancer appears to be hormone-sensitive, which allows for effective management. The President and his family are reviewing treatment options with his physicians,” the statement read.
Medical records indicate Biden’s cancer has “a Gleason score of 9 (Grade Group 5)” — indicating a particularly serious form of the disease. The American Cancer Society classifies Grade 5 prostate cancer as tissue that looks “very abnormal,” representing the highest grade on the scale. The Gleason scoring system, which ranges up to 10, further underscores the seriousness of Biden’s condition.
The diagnosis carries particular emotional resonance for the Biden family, who previously lost the former president’s son, Beau Biden, to brain cancer in 2015.
Reaction to loomer’s comments
Loomer’s posts have drawn criticism from both Democrats and some Republicans who viewed her statements as crossing a line of basic decency regarding a serious health matter.
White House Communications Director Nathan Williams called Loomer’s remarks “disgraceful and emblematic of the toxic political discourse we must move beyond as a nation.”
Several Republican lawmakers, while declining to be named, distanced themselves from Loomer’s comments, with one senior GOP representative calling them “unhelpful and inappropriate.”
President Donald Trump, who previously offered Biden his “warmest and best wishes” upon news of the diagnosis, has not publicly commented on Loomer’s statements.

Modern treatments offer hope even in advanced cases, and public declarations about someone’s life expectancy are both medically unsound and deeply insensitive.”
This is not the first time Loomer has generated controversy with inflammatory statements. She has previously been banned from multiple social media platforms and ride-sharing services for statements targeting religious and ethnic minorities.
