Watch: Toddler crawls through White House fence, leaving netizens amused

Secret Service swiftly intervenes as video of incident goes viral

In a lighthearted yet unusual security breach, a small child was spotted crawling through the White House fence on Wednesday (March 26). Unlike past incidents involving fence climbers, this time, it was a toddler who made an unexpected attempt to enter the presidential residence.

Secret Service reacts swiftly

As soon as the child was seen making his way through the fence, Secret Service personnel immediately responded, picking up the toddler and ensuring his safety.

A viral video of the incident captured a humorous moment where the child was seen playing with an officer’s beard before being carried across the North Lawn by a security officer in a blue hooded sweatshirt. The child was then handed over to another officer.

Incident occurred amid Trump’s policy announcement

According to Secret Service spokesperson Anthony Guglielmi, the event took place near the North Lawn around 6:30 p.m., shortly after President Donald Trump made an announcement regarding proposed auto tariffs from the Oval Office.

“Officers quickly reunited the child with their parents without incident,” Guglielmi stated in an X post.

Social media reacts: ‘Is that Elon’s kid?’

The amusing nature of the incident sparked widespread reactions online, with users sharing their takes on the toddler’s White House adventure.

One user joked, “Is that Elon’s kid? If so, it’s cool; that’s his dad’s house.”

Another quipped, “LOL, that’s one way to visit the White House. Wonder what he wanted to see.”

A third user humorously speculated that the child was “interviewing for the highchair cabinet position.”

Not the first White House security breach

While this event stood out due to the child’s age, security breaches at the White House are not uncommon.

Just last month, another viral video showed a man dressed in black attempting to scale the security fencing outside the White House. The climber, after reaching the spikes at the top, appeared to reconsider and began climbing back down—only to be swiftly apprehended by Secret Service agents.

Despite these incidents, the White House remains one of the most heavily secured locations in the world, with authorities responding swiftly to any breach—no matter how small.
