Woman stabbed multiple times at Miami airport in apparent random attack

Chaos Erupts at Miami International Airport

Late Saturday night, a woman was repeatedly stabbed and nearly thrown over a railing at Miami International Airport, sparking panic among passengers. The attack occurred around 11:30 p.m. in the international greeters lobby. The woman, who remains unidentified, is in critical condition at a local hospital.

“We want to assure the public that the situation is under control and the safety of our passengers, staff, and visitors remains our top priority,” airport officials stated. Authorities quickly responded, containing the situation.

Details of the incident

During the unprovoked attack, an adult male attempted to throw the woman over a fourth-floor railing overlooking Concourse J. She managed to escape to the third floor, where she awaited first responders. The suspect was apprehended, and a knife was recovered nearby.

Bystanders provided immediate assistance to the injured woman until EMS arrived. Video footage shows police investigating the scene post-attack. It remains unclear if the individuals involved were travelers or airport employees.

Additional complications

Around the same time, police received false reports of an active shooter, adding to the confusion. This briefly disrupted airport operations, which have since returned to normal.

The airport was already dealing with disruptions from a faulty software update by US cybersecurity company CrowdStrike, which caused multiple flight cancellations and delays.
