What is BARK Air? The world's first doggy jet service to offer VIP experience for dogs

Are you tired of leaving your pet dog behind when you travel? BARK Air is the world’s first doggie jet service, and it’s here to treat your pup on their next vacation. From route to cost, here is all you need to know about it.

What is BARK Air?

BARK, the firm known for monthly subscription boxes of dog goodies, has teamed with a charter flight to make the lives of pet owners easier. Here is all you need to know about the airline.

The goal of BARK Air is to provide a “white glove experience typical of a human’s first-class experience and redirect all that pampering to pooches.” The company proudly calls itself “fur-st class.”

Taking your dog on a plane is one of the most stressful experiences you can have as a pet parent. It’s a time-consuming process that demands extensive planning and preparation. American and United Airlines, for example, allow small dogs to be carried under the seat while following all safety rules, however, larger dogs must be transported in the cargo area. Although airlines consider this a safe method, it is distressing for many pet owners, who frequently avoid booking trips with their pets.

What is the ticket cost?

Luxury travel for your furry friend won’t come easy, as you’ll have to pay an exorbitant price to have your pet fly with you. So far, a one-way trip for one dog and one person costs approximately $6,000.

Route of BARK Air

The inaugural flight, comprising numerous canines and their humans, is scheduled to take off on May 23rd. Currently, just two routes are available, both departing from New York’s Westchester County Airport. A one-way ticket from New York to London’s Stansted Airport costs $8,000, while a one-way ticket to Van Nuys Airport in Los Angeles costs $6,000. The sale of tickets started on April 11.

BARK Air is a jet service that pampers dogs during their travels by giving them a VIP experience. According to the airline’s press release, BARK Air passengers may breeze through TSA checkpoints and security lines and experience a hassle-free check-in process. To make the experience even more delightful for passengers, the airline’s chefs create in-flight meals on-site.
