Being swift is one thing. But in the case of electric vehicles, the per charge range is arguably more important than any other feature. This is the primary emphasis of Mercedes EV Vision Benz’s EQXX concept. It has the potential to alter the terms of engagement in the EV wars. Mercedes-Benz has revealed its ambitions to go completely electric by 2030 and to provide a battery-powered variation of each of its vehicles in the coming years. The information revealed about the Vision EQXX idea, on the other hand, drew a lot of interest.
Mercedes describes Vision EQXX as an electric technology initiative aimed at significantly increasing range and performance.
“Mercedes-Benz is currently developing the Vision EQXX, an electric car with a real-world range of more than 1,000 kilometers, targeting a single-digit figure for Kwh per 100 kilometers (over 6 miles per Kwh) at normal highway driving speeds,” the company informed.

The German luxury brand also disclosed that a multi-disciplinary team, lead by specialists from Mercedes-F1 Benz’s High-Performance Powertrain division, has already begun work on the prototype EV. It may debut as early as 2022.
Obviously, the battery pack will be at the heart of this concept. It will get a unit that may have a 20% increase in energy density over the battery found in the recently introduced EQS. According to Mercedes-teaser Benz’s pictures, the EQXX concept will be a sedan with a low-ish profile. Its external design features a lot of curves, which might be a method to make it more efficient.
Mercedes has been aiming at Tesla’s EV domination for some time. But with an emphasis on range extension, it is now firing at the very top. The Tesla Roadster has a range of about 997 kilometers; while the forthcoming Cybertruck boasts a per-charge range of more than 800 kilometers.
