X introduces Premium+ membership plan for enhanced user experience at $16 per month

X, previously Twitter, has launched a new membership package called “Premium+,” which costs $16 per month. For those willing to pay more, this plan provides improved perks. The Premium+ plan is intended to provide users with an ad-free experience and the greatest boost for their responses on the X platform.

This subscription package supplements the benefits offered by the existing Blue subscription plan, which costs $3 per month, and the Premium plan, which costs $8 per month, according to AFP.

The addition of a blue tick next to user names in profiles, as well as a visible ID verification badge, are key aspects of the Premium+ plan.

Recent alterations at X

X has seen considerable changes in the last year, thanks to Elon Musk’s leadership. Musk paid $44 billion for Twitter and immediately made contentious choices, including firing numerous Twitter leaders and decreasing the company’s staff from 8,000 to fewer than 1,500 employees.

Content moderation was also dramatically adjusted, with previously banned extremists having their accounts resurrected and users being able to purchase account verification, even for frequently false posts.

Musk defended the modifications as being in the service of free expression, but they prompted questions about the platform’s content quality.

Musk began charging for services that were previously free on Twitter, such as the blue tick marks used for authentication, in order to raise revenue from subscriptions.

The site’s advertising income has suffered in the last year as marketers have become less enthusiastic about the social media platform

Elon Musk renamed Twitter “X” in July, announcing his aim for it to become an “everything app” similar to China’s WeChat.

The goal of this transition was to provide customers with a platform where they could socialize while simultaneously managing their finances.
