Dexter: New Blood will be available on DVD, Blu-ray, and a limited edition steelbook, all of which will include 30 minutes of bonus content. New Blood is a popular crime drama that was just revived seven years after Dexter’s infamous season 8 ending. While New Blood received mainly positive reviews during its 10-episode run, the concluding episode was exactly as contentious as the original ending.
Some fans disliked the finale of Dexter: New Blood. But everyone may now buy a tangible copy of the limited series. Dexter: New Blood is available for pre-order on DVD and Blu-ray from Best Buy and other stores. Fans may also get a limited edition Dexter: New Blood Steelbook, which is also a Blu-ray, for $9 extra. On March 22, the DVD, Blu-ray, and steelbook editions will all have a 30-minute additional featurette. Surprisingly, Dexter: New Blood has yet to receive a 4K release.
With Dexter: New Blood streaming on Showtime, likely, the network won’t make a lot of money from the series’ home release. Collectors will, however, want to add what is officially Dexter season 9 to their collection. Plus, by not making this bonus material available to stream, Showtime is sure to hook die-hard Dexter fans. The Dexter: New Blood steelbook itself may sell out soon. But fans who have no interest in this version may be able to save money by waiting a while. The DVD and Blu-ray will, like most movies and TV shows, reduce in price over time.
