The 54-year-old is undergoing tests for skin cancer following a recent medical check-up. Hugh Jackman underwent treatment in 2013 and urged fans to take sun safety seriously and undergo regular checkups. He had six treatments following the positive tests. In a video, Jackman sporting a bandage on his nose stated his doctor found “little things which could be or could not be basal cell (carcinomas).”
Basal cell carcinoma is non-melanoma cancer hence, less likely to spread according to experts. The cancer is a result of overexposure to the sun. Treatment for this type of skin cancer has 90 percent of success. The Wolverine star assured they are the “least dangerous” kind. However, he repeated the need for sun safety. “Please wear sunscreen, it is just not worth it, no matter how much you want a tan. Trust me!” stated the actor.

He stated the diagnosis was a surprise despite his upbringing. “It’s always a bit of a shock just hearing the word ‘cancer’. Being an Australian it’s a very common thing. I never wore sunscreen growing up so I was a prime candidate for it,” stated the actor. “I know you’ve heard me talk about my basal cell carcinomas before. I’m going to keep talking about them if need be. And if it reminds even one person to put on sunscreen with a high SPF, then I’m happy,” he owed.
