OSCARS

Lady Gaga may not have been a part of Oscar nominations this year, nonetheless, she will have a different role. Chris Rock, Zoë Kravitz, Lady Gaga are going to be the Oscars 2022 presenters at Dolby Theatre on March 27.

Will Packer and Shayla Cowan, the show’s producers, unveiled the initial list of Oscars 2022 presenters for the 94th Academy Awards on Thursday.

“Movies inspire us, entertain us and unite us across the globe,” said Oscars producer Will Packer. “That’s the precise goal of the show this year, and we’re thrilled to welcome the first of a stellar lineup joining the Oscars stage to help us celebrate the power of film and honor the year’s best in filmmaking.”

Backlash

While Hollywood gears up for its big night, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and its major event have recently made headlines for a variety of reasons. The organization has received backlash for its plans to pre-tape eight categories; and splice them into the presentation, as well as its COVID-19 restrictions. COVID-19 vaccinations will be necessary for the majority of guests. However, it will not be essential for presenters and performers, according to Deadline.

Regina Hall, Amy Schumer, and Wanda Sykes are the Oscars 2022 hosts. It will air live on ABC on Sunday, March 27 at 8 p.m. ET/ 5 p.m. PT. To minimize seats, the Academy is reducing the capacity of this year’s performance to 2,500 instead of the usual 3,300. They will also be avoiding the annual member ticket lottery. Meanwhile, The Power of the Dog tops the field with ten nominations heading into the Oscars this month, followed by Dune with ten nods.
