The Batman: Robert Pattinson Teases Surprises for DC fandom

Robert Pattinson The Batman

According to star Robert Pattinson, The Batman will have a lot of surprises at DC FanDome 2021. With Matt Reeves’ upcoming standalone, the Twilight alum will make his debut as Warner Bros.’ fresh iteration of the Caped Crusader. There’s a lot of excitement for this latest redesign of the legendary superhero, as there has been for its predecessors; luckily, further details about the project will be disclosed at the next DC-exclusive event.

Ben Affleck was going to star, direct, and write the movie. But the actor exited from the DCEU. Therefore, it was reworked into a standalone picture with no ties to the aforementioned series. Instead, Pattinson’s Bruce Wayne will exist in a totally different reality. Thereby, giving the filmmakers complete creative control over this version of the titular hero’s story. Jeffrey Wright plays Commissioner Gordon, Zoe Kravitz plays Catwoman. Colin Farrell plays The Penguin, and Andy Serkis plays Alfred Pennyworth. The Riddler, played by Paul Dano, is likely to be the story’s main antagonist.

More about Robert Pattinson The Batman

The plot of the film is currently unknown. But expect more information to emerge as the blockbuster becomes one of the key attractions at DC FanDome 2021. Pattinson reveals what they have in store for fans at the event in an interview with Variety. Thereby, admitting that he and Kravitz filmed something for it. Pattinson stated, “Me and Zoë [Kravitz] did some stuff. It’s a fun little thing. There are lots of little surprises for it”. Apart from that, he didn’t reveal anything else, although Reeves is likely to be present, revealing new details about The Batman’s intriguing plot.

It had already been announced that a new trailer for The Batman would premiere at DC FanDome before Pattinson’s comment. Given that the initial glimpse at the project was revealed at last year’s virtual convention, this makes sense. According to this, Reeves’ possible appearance might add a lot to what we already know about the film. Last year, the director was unexpectedly open with plot information for the blockbuster. Hence, indicating that it will deal with Gotham’s systematic corruption and how Bruce’s family has a connection to it all. This time, perhaps, they’ll talk more about The Batman’s antagonists and how they fit into the story. Other cast members could also make an appearance and discuss their different roles.

The Batman’s presentation at DC FanDome 2021 might very well be the start of Warner Bros’ marketing push for the blockbuster as it approaches its theatrical release. Expect tie-in products to flood retailers in addition to promotional materials. While toys aren’t always film-accurate, they might provide new information about what to expect from a hotly anticipated film.
