Tearful Amber Heard testifies ex-husband Johnny Depp turned violent

Heard-Depp case

In a recent development in the Heard-Depp case, Amber Heard got teary while testifying against Depp. She said that her ex-husband Johnny Depp tortured her physically. It all began with slaps after she laughed at one of his tattoos and progressed to a “cavity search” of her body for cocaine. In a closely watched US defamation case launched by Depp, Heard testified for the first time, stating the stars enjoyed a “magical” relationship until it got violent.

“He slapped me across the face,” Heard said. “I didn’t know what was going on. I just stared at him.” Heard said he slapped her twice more and said “you think it’s funny, bitch?” “I laughed because I didn’t know what else to do. I thought, ‘This must be a joke.’ … I didn’t know what was going on. I just stared at him, kind of laughing still, thinking he was gonna start laughing too to tell me it was a joke. But he didn’t,” she added.

“It was clear it wasn’t a joke anymore,” Heard added. “You would think you’d have a response, but I, as a woman, had never been hit like that. I’m an adult and I’m sitting next to the man I love and he slapped me for no reason it seemed like. I missed the point. It was that stupid.”

“Mutual abuse”

Depp allegedly assaulted her “several times,” according to Heard, usually when he was drunk or high. Depp became enraged and accused her of soliciting what he considered to be provocative overtures from another woman during a weekend away with friends in May 2013, according to Heard.

She further said Depp allegedly tore her dress, took off her underwear, and pushed his fingers “inside” her that night. “He proceeds to do a cavity search,” she said. “He’s looking for his drugs, his cocaine.”

In his testimony, Depp denied the claims of hitting his ex-wife. Heard, he claimed, was the one who was physically abusive during their relationship. Depp’s lawyers presented evidence from his hospital stay, including a surgically prepped finger. Evidence in the form of audio recording was also played during his testimony. As per the recording, Amber claims to have hit him but not punched him. Their former marriage counselor described “mutual abuse” between the stars.
