The internet is mourning the death of Lil Tay, a 15-year-old rapper and a YouTube celebrity who died abruptly. Her brother was also killed in the same tragedy, which devastated their family and admirers.

Who was Lil Tay?

Lil Tay, actual name Claire Hope, rose to prominence in 2018 for her viral videos in which she flaunted her money and used profanity.

She had over 3 million Instagram followers, where her family revealed the tragic news of her death.

They wrote in a post, “It is with a heavy heart that we share the devastating news of our beloved Claire’s sudden and tragic passing. We have no words to express the unbearable loss and indescribable pain.”

“This outcome was entirely unexpected and has left us all in shock. Her brother’s passing adds an even more unimaginable depth to our grief,” the post continued.

“We kindly ask for privacy as we grieve this overwhelming loss, as the circumstances surrounding Claire and her brother’s passing are still under investigation”

The terrible death of the teenage rapper and YouTube celebrity has also taken the life of her brother, who may have been her stepbrother, Jason Tian.

Jason was the driving force behind Lil Tay’s online identity, which propelled her to fame in 2018.

The 14-year-old became famous for her films, in which she swore and flaunted her wealth.

The family relocated from Canada to Los Angeles to pursue Lil Tay’s profession, according to ITVX.

In 2021, the YouTube sensation’s stepbrother made headlines when he began a GoFundMe campaign for his sister, who was purportedly ill.

Some people questioned the genuineness of the advertising and responded with suspicion and criticism.
