Elon Musk has stated that he is “gathering resources” for a “true spacefaring civilization” as part of his goals.
The Twitter owner used the social media site to show off his wealth and tell how he intends to spend it.
“Entrepreneur and content producer Nick Huber tweeted about the three levels of wealth: “There are only three levels of wealth:
“1. You can pay your bills and rent without feeling stressed.
“2. You can dine at any restaurant without glancing at or being concerned about the price.
“3. You can go wherever you want without having to worry about the cost.
“More money doesn’t change anything else in life.”
Joe Lonsdale, another entrepreneur, retweeted Huber’s initial tweet and added a new level, level 7.
He stated: “Level 7 is you can raise, equip and indefinitely maintain a sufficient army to deter nation states, clearly Nick has not thought very hard about this.”
That’s when Tesla CEO Elon Musk stepped in and outdid Lonsdale by unveiling a further level, level 9.
He tweeted: “Level 9 is making humanity a multiplanet species & true spacefaring civilization. That is why I am gathering resources.”
His 147 million followers flocked to the comments area, with one asking, “As much as I appreciate the idea, why don’t we work on fixing this planet first?”
A second said: “You will go down in the eternal history of humanity when you pull it off. Godspeed sir!” While a third added: “I have a list of people I’d like to ship to Mars.”
Meanwhile, a fourth remarked, “Level 10 is becoming a great friend to the guy who’s turning humanity into a multiplanet species.” So you got the summer invitation… It’s like having a friend who owns a yacht.”
