Cristiano Ronaldo has been pictured in a Manchester United kit for the first time since returning to the club. One of the greatest players ever to have played the game, Ronaldo won three Premier League titles and a Champions League in his first stint at the club and is back at Old Trafford after 12 years.

Last week, Manchester United announced that Cristiano Ronaldo is joining the Red Devils after 12 years and will officially be part of the team pending medical and visa formalities. The Portugal star returned to Manchester United on a two-year deal for a reported fee of €23 million. According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, the club will pay €15 million with €8 million in add-ons as the transfer fee to Juventus for the 36-year-old.

Ronaldo’s new t-shirt number is still yet to be revealed. Edinson Cavani is currently wearing the No.7 jersey for the time being, so Ronaldo might take another number. Manchester United uploaded a series of snaps from an official photoshoot of Ronaldo. The Portuguese forward was seen showing off the famous red of United once again.

Cristiano Ronaldo is back at Old Trafford after 12 years

Ronaldo joined Manchester United for the first time in 2003 with a fee of £12 million ($16.5 million). On 16 August 2003, Ronaldo announced himself to English football against Bolton and scored his first goal against Portsmouth.

In his first spell for Manchester United, The Portugal star spent six seasons at Old Trafford from 2003-2009. Ronaldo scored 118 goals in 292 games. He won the Premier League Golden Boot in 2007/08, the season he helped the Red Devils claim their last UEFA Champions League title. Ronaldo has claimed eight trophies including three Premier League titles plus the Ballon d’Or with Red Devils.

United head coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer on Ronaldo’s arrival: “Of course the fans have been excited for the last couple of days, we all are of course. He has had such a great career and he has been here before. He is going to give everybody a boost, of course. I played with him, he’s a great player. He is a top human being, he is a top professional, so he will give everybody in the squad and everybody around the club a buzz.”
