On June 7, Apple paved its way in the annual worldwide developer conference (WWDC). Apple was planning to announce vital operating system updates for all its products running on iOS. And it sure did. Apple made some impressive tweaks to its smartphone operating system, iOS 15. A firm build is ready to flow out later this year. Here are more details about everything that Apple revealed about iOS 15 at WWDC 2021.

FaceTime will be usable on Windows, Android devices via browser

Apple began the keynote speech by stating iOS 15 with upgrades to FaceTime and notifications. The updates to FaceTime incorporate enhanced video and audio. The video calling setting will also be available on gadgets running Windows and Android through the web browser.

FaceTime users will be able to share music and videos using SharePlay in iOS 15

Also, FaceTime has a portion of Apple’s spatial audio, appended by peculiarities such as voice isolation to lessen background noise and a Portrait mode that blurs the background in real-time while video calls. FaceTime will also promote sharing music, video, and device screens via SharePlay. Talking about notifications, Apple has recreated them to present larger app icons and contact pictures for text notifications.

You may use Focus mode to personalize notification delivery based on your activity

Notifications will be delivered in bulk at a predetermined time, based on on-device intelligence that recognizes user tendencies. Furthermore, users will be able to select which alerts are permissible during certain tasks while using Focus mode. Surprisingly, when Focus is on in one Apple device, it applies to all other Apple devices as well. The Messages app will display senders in your Do Not Disturb state. It can also be avoided for a significant interaction.

You may copy-paste handwritten text onto photos with Live Text

iOS 15

Additionally, the Photos app gets an aesthetic to revamp as well as a plethora of new features, including the ability to use Live Text and Spotlight to search for handwritten recipe images and celebrities, respectively. Live Text can identify text in photos automatically and assist you in selecting it and performing clipboard activities such as copy and paste. The spotlight will provide web picture search results for actors, TV shows, and films.

If an accessory is in an unusual area, the Find My app will alert you

iOS 15

Apple’s Find My app now has the ability to track a device that has been turned off or wiped. Friends and family members’ whereabouts can also be a part of the live stream if they like. If customers leave an AirTag, an Apple device, or a Find My network-compatible item behind in an unknown location, Separation Alerts will alert them. Find My app is now compatible with AirPods Pro and AirPods Max.

The App Privacy Report displays how applications make use of the permissions in iOS 15

New privacy options are also a part of iOS 15. For starters, Siri requests now include audio processing on the iPhone, and Mail Privacy Protection hides your IP address, location, and read/unread status from senders. The App Privacy Report in iOS 15 builds on the App Tracking Transparency policy published earlier this year. It provides an overview of how applications use permissions that they have.

iOS 15 is available to developers today, with a public beta coming later this month

Apple Maps now adds extra information, such as crosswalks and bike lanes. For selected cities in the United States, the app will provide a “3D city experience.”
Starting today, Apple Developer Program members will be able to download iOS 15, with a public beta coming next month. In October 2021, the stable worldwide version plans to be released.
