WhatsApp, which is owned by Meta, has added a new function that allows users to send and receive brief video messages in their chats. These real-time video messages will be limited to 60 seconds in length. The video messages will be comparable to the platform’s voice note feature. The new function includes end-to-end encryption, which ensures users’ privacy. The deployment of WhatsApp video messages has already begun, and all users worldwide will have access to them soon.
“New for WhatsApp — we’re adding the ability to instantly record and share a video message in your WhatsApp chats. It’s as easy as sending a quick voice message,” Meta chief Mark Zuckerberg wrote in a Facebook post.
WhatsApp stated in a blog post that the new function allows users to shoot video messages with a personalized touch for various events such as birthday wishes, sharing good news, or expressing any essential information. While the service is still being rolled out, users can manually access it by installing the most recent version of the instant messaging program from Google Play or the program Store.
