Windows 11 sneak peek: New UI, start menu, and much more

The first looks of the upcoming Windows 11 operating system were leaked online yesterday.

Windows 11: First looks and more

A Chinese website called Baidu was the first to leak some snapshots of the new operating system. Soon the entire Windows 11 OS: its new start menu, user interference, and much more.

For starters, the start menu and UI of Windows 11 look eerily similar to Windows 10X. However, that is because windows had been trying to simplify the operating system for dual-screen devices. The new upgrade comes with a visually changed taskbar with icons, a clean tray area, and a brand new start menu and button.

The updated taskbar gives you the option of having centered apps or left-hand-sided ones. The new start menu is much simpler than that of Windows 10 and lacks the live tiles. However, pinned apps, quick shutdown and restart and, recent files are still easy to access. Coupled with the dark mode, the Windows 11 looks dramatic and premium.

The OS with a new edge

Not only this but, another surprise is the rounded corners of the screen throughout the operating system. Apps, menus, and even the file explorer come with a rounded edge. However, this is all we know. Since it is just a preview we’re sure that there’s much more to look out for once the operating system is launched by Windows. We think that Windows Insiders will get the chance to experience and test it out for the first time.

If you look at the taskbar closely, you might notice a new icon labeled Widgets. We heard through the grapevine that with the new operating system, windows might bring back the classic Windows Widgets. Windows is also taking this time to improve the App Store and Xbox experience. The new app will be integrated into Windows 11, allowing quick and easy access to Game Pass, socials, and Xbox store.

On the other hand, there are quite a few similarities between Windows 11 and Windows 10X. However, the launch of Windows 10X was canceled as it was originally focused on a dual-screen experience. Moreover, the upgrade is also easy to work with and gives a lot more options.

Windows took to Twitter to announce an event on June 24th. We have a feeling that they’ll unveil the gorgeous and sleek operating system.
P.S. There might be a new window start-up sound involved.
