Nepal’s Pasang Dawa Sherpa became the second to scale Everest for the 26th time. Read to know more about the feat.

Nepali man achieves an incredible feat

46-year-old Pasang Dawa Sherpa became the second to climb Mount Everest 26 times. Imagine Nepal Treks, Dawa’s employer revealed the sherpa reached the top with a client from Hungary. “They are descending from the top now and are in good shape,” stated Dawa Futi. The feat is not possible independently. Several foreign climbers are now heading towards the peak after the ropes were fixed to the top. A typical climbing season in the region runs from March to May. Nepal has issued 467 permits this year for climbers from other nations to summit Everest.

Additionally, Dawa Futi revealed that Naila Kiani, a Pakistani woman climbed the peak on Sunday. Moreover, she was the first foreign climber to summit in this year’s climbing season. “Kiani, a 37-year-old banker based in Dubai, had climbed four of the world’s 14 highest mountains before Everest,” revealed the Himalayan Times newspaper. Kiani is also the second-ever Pakistani woman to climb the great mountain.

Who is a Sherpa?

Sherpas mostly go by their first names and are known for their incredible climbing skills. They mainly make a living by guiding tourists in the mountains. At least one sherpa guide accompanies a climber. However, it is essential to remember that Hillary Step, a narrow section below the summit can get crowded. Since the first scaling by Sherpa Tenzing Norgay and Sir Edmund Hillary in 1953, Everest has been climbed over 11,000 times. As per Nepali officials and a Himalayan database, about 320 people lost their lives trying to make the climb.
