According to a leaked intelligence report, President Vladimir Putin was deluded and believed Russia could defeat Ukraine in three days.

It’s a year since the Russian assault on Ukraine began. As per leaked intelligence reports, Russian President Vladimir Putin believed it was possible to defeat Ukraine in “just three days”. Additionally, he was also told by confidants that Russian sympathizers were waiting in Ukraine’s capital, ready to overthrow the government. According to The Sun, insider emails from the FSB, the Russian intelligence services reveal Putin was told there were about 2,000 people in every Ukranian city, waiting to overthrow the president.
Wind of Change, the source revealed emails to Vladimir Osechkin, a Russian human rights activist. Osechkin is the founder of ‘Gulagu,’ a group monitoring the abuse in Russia’s prisons. “We issued reports that at minimum about 2,000 trained civilians in every major city in Ukraine were ready to overthrow Zelensky. And that at least 5,000 civilians were prepared to come out with flags against Zelensky on the beck-and-call of Russia,” revealed the report.

As per Wind of Change, the FSB believed once Zelesnky was toppled, Ukrainians would fight amongst themselves, trying to win Putin’s favor. “Do you want a laugh? We were expected to be the arbitrators for crowning Ukrainian politicians. They were supposed to start tearing each other apart. Competing for the right to be called aligned with Russia,” added the source. However, in the end, Putin’s three-day plan of taking over Kyiv failed. A year on, Putin is still a long way away from defeating Ukraine “in just three days”. Additionally, Volodymyr Zelensky is still in power. Moreover, Ukraine has made significant advances since October 2022.
