President Joe Biden signs law declassifying US intelligence on Covid virus origin

A measure requiring the disclosure of information on any connections between the COVID-19 epidemic and a laboratory in Wuhan, China, was signed into law by US President Joe Biden on Monday.

“We need to get to the bottom of Covid-19’s origins…, including potential links to the Wuhan Institute of Virology,” said Biden in a statement.

Biden said that with the implementation of the legislation, his “administration will declassify and share as much of that information as possible.” He added that he shares the “Congress’s goal of releasing as much information as possible” about Covid’s origin.

The Biden administration will release as much information as it could without endangering “national security”

Biden claimed that in 2021, after taking over the office he ordered the Intelligence Community to use every instrument at its disposal to investigate.

He added that his administration will release as much information as it could without endangering “national security.”

According to estimations, the coronavirus outbreak started in the Chinese city of Wuhan in 2019. Over 7 million people were killed by the virus globally.

Beijing continues to aggressively dispute the idea that a lab breach may have been the cause of the global epidemic despite speculations that the Covid virus originated at a lab in the Chinese city of Wuhan.

According to AFP, there is still disagreement among health professionals and the US intelligence community regarding the coronavirus’s origins. According to one origin story, it accidentally crossed the species barrier from animals to humans. The Covid virus allegedly spilled while being studied at the Wuhan Institute of Virology, according to another source.
