The Caribbean island where convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein lived was infamous for being a sanctuary for paedophiles. According to the New York Post, it will be converted into a resort. On Friday, the court unveiled a second set of court records related to Epstein, who committed suicide in 2019 while facing sex trafficking allegations. These records, which were part of an earlier litigation against the wealthy banker, largely contained material that had been known for the past 20 years from various sources.
They did, however, show Epstein’s associations with important A-listers, some of whom were also accused of misconduct. The documents, for example, revealed Epstein’s prior acquaintance with Bill Clinton, who is not charged with any crime, and Prince Andrew of Britain, who settled a lawsuit alleging he had sex with a 17-year-old girl who was with Epstein.

- Stephen Deckoff, a billionaire who controls Black Diamond Capital Management, is the new owner of the Paedophile Islands. According to Forbes, he spent $60 million on the islands in May 2023.
- The islands, known as Great and Little St. James, have been on the market for almost a year. They were previously valued at $125 million in 2021, but the price was cut to assist support Epstein’s victims’ compensation.
- Deckoff intends to develop the islands into a 25-room luxury resort. The islands cover more than 230 acres of land, with Little St. James covering more than 70 acres and Great St. James covering more than 160 acres.
- The islands are situated near St. Thomas, a popular tourist destination in the Caribbean. They already have a helipad, several pools and guest villas on them.
- The islands have a dark history, as they were the site of Epstein’s sexual abuse and trafficking of minor women. Epstein bought the islands in 1998 for $8 million. After he died in 2019, many of his victims came forward to share their horrific experiences on the islands.
