On Friday, a 32-year-old lady from Alabama who was born with two uteruses and became pregnant in both gave birth to twins (girls) on different days. “Our miracle babies were born!” Kelsey Hatcher posted in a post on her Instagram account “doubleuhatchlings” about her experience. She went on to say that the women “decided they were rare enough statistically that they should just go ahead and have their birthdays too”.

Roxi Layla, the first, was born on Tuesday at 7:49 p.m. (0149 GMT). Rebel Laken joined her at 6:09 a.m. on Wednesday. Doctors predicted a Christmas delivery date, but the sisters came just in time to spend the holidays with their siblings. The mother and children have been released from the hospital, with Hatcher pledging to provide more information on the birth in the future. Hatcher was 17 when she discovered she had “uterus didelphys,” an uncommon congenital disorder that affects roughly 0.3 per cent of females.

Hatcher was informed the odds were one in 50 million, with the most recent publicly publicized occurrence occurring in Bangladesh in 2019 when Arifa Sultana, aged 20, gave birth to healthy twins 26 days apart.
