UFO over Disney World, Florida? A Glowing Orb Sparks Alien Speculation

A mysterious glowing orb appeared over Disney World Epcot in Florida this week, leaving visitors wondering whether they had witnessed extraterrestrial activity—or just another case of mistaken identity in the skies above Central Florida.

What did witnesses see at Disney World?

Morgan Huelsman, digital director of The Bobby Bones Show, and her boyfriend were waiting for the fireworks when they noticed an unusual light in the sky.

According to Huelsman, the orb was bright, stationary, and distinctly separate from the fireworks display. It hovered for a brief moment, glowed, and then suddenly vanished. She recorded the sighting and shared the video on social media, where it quickly gained traction.

The Bobby Bones Show’s official X account amplified the video, noting that “it was never moving,” fueling online debate. While some viewers claimed it looked like a drone, Huelsman dismissed that explanation, insisting it was “definitely a UFO with aliens.”

Why are UFO sightings common near Disney World?

The location of Disney World adds intrigue to such reports. The amusement park sits just 95 kilometers from Cape Canaveral and NASA’s Kennedy Space Center—one of the busiest spaceflight regions in the world.

This proximity means that visitors frequently see:

  • Rocket launches from SpaceX and NASA.
  • Starlink satellites forming unusual trails of light.
  • Re-entry burns from returning boosters, which can appear as glowing streaks or orbs.

Just four days before the alleged UFO sighting, SpaceX launched multiple Starlink satellites from Cape Canaveral. Some experts suggest that debris or atmospheric reflections from such launches could easily be mistaken for alien craft.

Are UFO sightings at Disney World new?

Not at all. Disney parks, particularly Epcot, have a history of UFO-like sightings:

  • December 2024: Visitors reported a glowing red orb in the sky, coinciding with a Falcon 9 rocket launch.
  • December 23, 2024: Witnesses saw a red streak, later confirmed to be the reusable first-stage booster returning to Earth.

These examples highlight a recurring pattern—spectacular but explainable phenomena linked to Florida’s active space industry.

Could the glowing orb really be a UFO?

The term UFO simply means an unidentified flying object—not necessarily an alien craft. When people see unusual lights in the sky that don’t match their expectations, they often label them as UFOs.

Experts caution that:

  • Rocket debris often burns up in the atmosphere, producing orbs of light.
  • Drones are increasingly used for entertainment near tourist sites, though Disney enforces strict no-drone policies.
  • Atmospheric conditions like lens flare, cloud reflection, or air traffic lights can create illusions.

In this case, the orb’s stationary appearance and disappearance could align with a satellite flare—a brief reflection of sunlight off a satellite’s surface—commonly mistaken for UFOs.

Why do UFO stories capture so much attention?

Part of the fascination comes from timing. In recent years, U.S. government reports have acknowledged that “unidentified aerial phenomena” (UAPs) are real, even if not fully explained. NASA also launched a UAP research panel in 2023, further legitimizing public interest.

Social media accelerates the cycle. A single viral video can spark worldwide discussions, often blurring the line between scientific explanation and pop-culture fueled speculation. Disney World, with its mix of wonder, space proximity, and family tourism, becomes an ideal backdrop for such stories.

The bottom line

The glowing orb spotted above Disney World is far more likely linked to nearby rocket activity or a satellite reflection than an alien spacecraft. But the sighting underscores a broader reality: Florida’s skies, filled with rockets, satellites, and atmospheric phenomena, are fertile ground for UFO rumors.

For Disney visitors, the next “alien encounter” may just be another unforgettable addition to the park’s fireworks show.
