A Southern California town council member resigned after a public outrage over a video that appeared online. According to The New York Post, the video appears to show Chris Kilpatrick peeing on the door of an LGBTQ nightclub in Los Angeles before engaging in a physical conflict with the club’s manager.

The video, posted by Precinct, a prominent downtown Los Angeles nightclub, shows two individuals urinating on the club’s employee door early Sunday morning. The males are then seen exiting the establishment with full cocktail glasses, according to the news source.

According to the Precinct’s social media post, a manager approached the males over the stolen drinks. The post claims that one of the individuals, later identified as Kilpatrick, assaulted the manager by hurling him to the ground.

Precinct underscores support for LGBTQ community, denounces actions in viral video

The precinct emphasized its role as a safe zone for the LGBTQ community while condemning the conduct of the males in the video.

“Last Saturday night, these two party boys decided to show everyone what not to do at Precinct,” the club said. “Precinct is a safe space for all; let’s have a good time.”

Kilpatrick’s lawyer provided a different version of the events. He claims Kilpatrick and his buddy acted in self-defense after being “aggressively grabbed” by the club’s employees. The lawyer contended that Kilpatrick’s actions were justifiable and that the public urination was a minor offense.

Despite the lawyer’s accusations, Kilpatrick resigned from his post on the Crescenta Valley Town Council the day before a hearing to determine his fate. The council has already stated that Kilpatrick would be ousted if the allegations were proven accurate.
