New York International Auto Show features new electric vehicles

The 2023 New York International Auto Show begins on Wednesday with several automakers introducing their latest vehicles. However, two new debuts on the first day are among nine automakers making press conferences pales in comparison to the previous installments. The brand new Ram 1500 ReV joins other pickups. However, despite being similar to the current gas-powered models, it comes with futuristic tech. The Rev comes with two battery pack choices. The standard battery pack lasts up to 350 miles of range. However, the optional one has an expected range of 500 miles.

Additionally, the 654- horsepower Rev can carry 2,700 pounds and tow up to 14,000 pounds. For a vehicle of that size, it has an impressive speed of zero to 60 mph in 4.4 seconds. According to Stellantis, the maker of Ram vehicles, the vehicle is capable of sending power back to the grid, powering a home during an outage, and powering worksite tools. Its newer frame design is specifically made for larger electric vehicles. However, it is only due in showrooms in the last quarter of 2024.

More on other vehicles

Another new debut at the Auto Show is Kia’s EV9. The new electric ride is longer than Kia’s crowd-favorite Telluride. (Alprazolam Online) However, it can seat up to seven people in its three rows of seats. It also comes with two power options- a standard batter and an optional battery expected to have a 300 miles range. Moreover, it has an optional all-wheel drive, unlike the built-in option in the new Rev. According to the American automaker, the “dual-motor GT line comes with 379 horsepower and can go from zero to 60 mph in five seconds.”Moreover, the battery charges from 10 to 80 percent in less than 25 minutes. The EV9 is going to reach showrooms later this year and will be built at Kia’s plant in West Point, Georgia. It is currently reviewing its requirements. However, it is unsure if it will qualify for the $7,500 tax credit. The exact prices of both the new vehicles will be announced closer to their sale.
