Rock legend suffers health scare during performance
Don Felder, the former Eagles guitarist, was forced to exit the stage mid-performance on Thursday night due to a medical emergency.
According to his manager, Charlie Brusco, Felder suffered from dehydration during his set on the Rock Legends Cruise.
Felder’s condition and recovery
Felder was immediately attended to by medical staff, who determined dehydration as the cause of his abrupt exit.
Per cruise medical regulations, the 77-year-old guitarist was placed under 24-hour quarantine to allow for recovery and rehydration.
His social media team later reassured fans, stating,
“We appreciate everyone’s concern regarding Don Felder’s abrupt stop to his show last night. He was given fluids and is feeling much better.”
Video shows Felder losing balance onstage
A video clip of the incident captured the moment when Felder, performing “Tequila Sunrise”, began to lose his balance. A crew member quickly rushed in to help him offstage.
His upcoming performances have been rescheduled to allow for full recovery. His team also reminded fans to stay hydrated.
Rock Legends Cruise and Felder’s legacy
Felder was performing as part of the Rock Legends Cruise, which departed from Miami on Thursday. The cruise features performances by Alice Cooper, Styx, and more.
A Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, Felder joined the Eagles in 1974 and remained with the band until 2001.
Eagles’ success and “Hotel California” origins
In a 2019 interview, Felder shared how the famous “Hotel California” riff came to him while playing guitar on a beach in Malibu as his children played nearby.
The Eagles, originally formed in 1971, became one of the most successful rock bands of all time, with:
