Israeli actor Lior Raz joins 'Brothers in Arms' volunteer group in fight against Hamas

Israeli actor Lior Raz, best known for his role as Doron Kabilio in the television sitcom Fauda, has joined Israel’s fight against Hamas. Raz has joined the ‘Brothers in Arms’ volunteer group. The actor posted a video on social media from the southern Israeli town of Sderot, in which he is seen with Israel Democracy Institute President Yohanan Plesner and journalist Avi Yissascharov.

“Accompanied by Yohanan Plesner @yplesner and Avi @issacharoff , I headed down south to join hundreds of brave ‘brothers in arms’ volunteers who worked tirelessly to assist the population in the south of Israel. We were sent to the bombarded town of Sderot to extract 2 families,” posted Raz on the social media platform, X.

Israel began its reaction following Hamas’s surprise strike on Saturday morning, which killed up to 700 Israelis and injured 2,300 more. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned Hamas on Tuesday that, while Israel did not start the war, it will end it.

Israel has mobilized 3,000,000 troops in retaliation against Hamas. According to the Times of Israel, this is the largest mobilization since the 1973 Yom Kippur War, when Israel called up 400,000 reservists.

“Israel is at war. We didn’t want this war. It was forced upon us most brutally and savagely. But though Israel didn’t start this war, Israel will finish it,” said Netanyahu in an address to the nation.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has promised that the Israeli military will go on the offensive against Hamas like never before.

If Israel attacks Palestinians in Gaza, Hamas says civilian hostages will be slaughtered without notice and the deaths would be aired. The organization claims to be holding over 100 hostages, including Israeli army officers.
