Kim Kardashian West got a lawsuit from her former domestic workers for not paying overtime and legally mandated breaks. Here’s the whole ordeal that went down.
According to a suit filed on Monday in LA, domestic workers accused Kim K of a wide range of violations. The group of cleaning, maintenance, and gardening workers filed a lawsuit after heavy consideration. The plaintiffs claim that the TV star was late with payments and withheld them for tax purposes. They also claim that she refused overtime payments and overworked them without breaks for meals. They were working on Kim K’s house in Hidden Hills.
According to legal documents uncovered by TMZ, one worker lost their job for bringing up overtime payments, tax issues, and meal breaks. A former employee claimed that she had to work for more than the 48 hours allowed for underage summer employees.

“Plaintiffs never got any paystubs, or paid on regular pay periods; They did not even get their required meal and rest breaks. Employees were not provided a means to record all their hours, were not paid all their hours and, were not reimbursed for employment expenses. They were not paid all their overtime wages, and were not paid their wages upon termination of employment,” said Frank Kim, a Los Angeles attorney.
“My firm is currently investigating other potential violations against these defendants, as well as other powerful families and businesses on behalf of everyday workers,” she added.
Kim Kardashian’s reply
As a retaliation, the Keeping up with the Kardashians star released a statement. “Kim K hired and paid them through a third-party vendor hired to provide services. She is not a party to the agreement made between the vendor and their workers. Therefore she is not responsible for how the vendor manages their business. The agreements they have made directly with their staff.” said the statement released by Kim K. She hoped to resolve the issues between the vendor and workers, it said.
