'The Flash' to end with season 9

With its impending ninth season on The CW, one of DC Comics‘ most beloved characters, “The Flash,” is about to come to an end. The much-loved DC series’ ninth season, which will be its last, will go into production in September and premiere in 2023. There will be 13 episodes throughout the season. Despite the fact that the show was set to conclude after season eight, the broadcaster and studios were able to secure new contracts for lead actor Gustin and his co-stars.

There was an official announcement about season 9 of ‘The Flash’ in March. However, even before that, there were speculations regarding the end of the series.

Averaging over a million viewers each episode and ranked amongst The CW’s most streamed series on digital platforms, Season 8 ended its run being one of the network’s most-watched programs of the 2021–22 broadcast cycle.

Series executive producer Eric Wallace said, “Nine seasons! Nine years of saving Central City while taking audiences on an emotional journey full of heart, humor, and spectacle. And now Barry Allen has reached the starting gate for his last race. So many amazing people have given their talents, time, and love to bring this wonderful show to life each week. So, as we get ready to honor the show’s incredible legacy with our exciting final chapter, I want to say thank you to our phenomenal cast, writers, producers, and crew over the years who helped make ‘The Flash’ such an unforgettable experience for audiences around the world.”

“The Flash” will have one of the longest runs of any CW program once its ninth season is up. Especially when compared to programs that only appeared on The CW. Comparatively, “Supernatural” lasted for 15 seasons. However, it did so on The WB rather than The CW at the start of its run. Following the move, “The Flash” started broadcasting on CW and debuted its first episode in 2014. This is The CW’s most recent renowned program to conclude its run in recent months. During the upfront season, the network recently discontinued a handful of its ongoing series.
