Gaming is no longer just a pastime or hobby but a profession too. You can make a great deal of money by streaming on Twitch, Youtube, or from competitive gameplays. The billion-dollar industry was once male-dominated but, here are the top female gamers you need to know of.

Scarlett

Sasha Hostyn or Scarlet, as she is famously known as the world’s highest-paid female pro gamer. She plays StarCraft II-one of the most competitive games in the world. She dominates the game every single time and her winning in South Korea is an impressive record for gamers in general. Scarlett initially rose to fame by winning Sponsor me in 2012. She also made over $296,000 with her gaming. To rise to the status of being the number 1 female gamer is no ordinary achievement.

Mystik

Katherine Gunn, aka Mystik, is one of the ‘Big Three’ among American female gamers. Her years of gaming were mainly between 2007-2010 but, her overall earnings worth $122,000 are impressive. She won the 2010 tournament at WCG Ultimate Gamer Season 2 and came first in Halo: Reach. She is currently ranked 755 globally.

Ricki Ortiz

This powerhouse is yet another Big Three. She has been in the gaming community since 2003 and recently chose to identify as a transgender woman in 2014. She has over 61 tournaments under her belt, along with the Capcom cup in 2016. Globally, she ranks 1111. Her overall earning cross the $80,00 bracket.

Kasumi Chan

Marjorie “Kasumi Chan” Bartell is the last of America’s Big Three. Globally she ranks 1558 and 321st in the US. Bartell is a true enigma since she competed twice and won second and first places before disappearing from the spotlight. During her prime, she made $55,000 from gaming.

Sarah Lou

Sarah Harrison, aka Sarah Lou, is a British pro-gamer girl. She dominates the fighting games and has won globally. She teamed up with Messy as ‘Birmingham Salvo’ to bag the 2008 Champion Gaming Series Season. Just a single win in 2008 has placed her at a global rank of 1684. She’d rule the gaming arenas if she were still playing pro.

Vilga

Ksenia “vilga” Klyuenkova is the highest-ranked Russian Gamer girl. She found her calling in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive in 2015. Her winning 17 tournaments since 2015 is no ordinary feat. Her victory at the 2017 World Electronic Sports Games in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive female category is astounding.

If this list inspired you to pick up Dota, CS Go, or Fortnight, it’s the right path! Life as a gamer might take you places and, these female pro gamers are inspiring.
